‘Turned out nice, again’ A sensory walk along the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside will be used to create a vivid word picture. Led by proudWORDS Coordinator Mary Lowe, an experienced teacher and author of short stories and of children’s book The Magic Patchwork. Suitable for lesbian, bi and trans women (MTF) interested in writing - beginners welcome.

‘Women and Words’ A fun, practical, creative writing workshop for lesbian/bi/transsexual women. No previous writing experience necessary. Led by Aoife Mannix, an Irish writer and poet. Her first poetry collection, The Elephant in the Corner‚ was published by Tall Lighthouse (www.tall-lighthouse.co.uk) last year. She regularly performs and runs workshops around London. She performed at the York Lesbian Arts Festival 2005. She previously worked as the general manager of the Royal Court Young Writers Programme and as a script editor for the BBC’s New Writing Initiative and Holby City.
