It’s the end of the year again, another month again, and we here at
PiP were thinking (again) wouldn’t it be nice if, this year, we went
out with a BANG BANG PTOW! YAY! WOOHOOBABY?!
Yep, that’s what we thought. And it sounded like a very good idea.
Something you would like…
PoeJazzi!
Spoken word and music night with a killer line-up that will see
queues of cool peeps right down the street… (TimeOut No.1 Critic’s
Choice, January 2007 AND Listed among 101 Things To Do In London 2007!)
Also Voted one of London’s Top Five Spoken Word Nights By… The
London Paper.
‘Something for everyone’ may be a bit of a platitude, but with the
diverse talent it showcases, this remarkable poetic feast actually
offers it.’
(*****, SkinnyFest, Edinburgh 2007)
What: It’s PoeJazzi. Ultimate. Final. Christmas Poe. One last shine
till the heavy Hybernation. Who knows when we’ll wake up..
Who’s On? Only the Greatest line-up since Tupac and Biggie took to
the stage for a bit of freestyle Jammy Dodgering. Serious!
You’ll be telling future Generations about this. Or your Money back*
Mark Hole(myspace.com/MarkHole) Met this man, with a wonderful voice
and a dab hand at piano wacking. Thought he reminded us of a happy
Rufus Wainwright a bit, Thought you might like him. Yes, we think you
will.
Jono Mccleery
(myspace.com/jonomccleery) Our star act of March returns! One of the
most exciting unsigned singer songwriter of recent times, A Jono
performance drips of heartfelt ambience and soul. If you missed him
before you darned well not miss him now.
A.F.Harold
(myspace.com/afharold) Another man from March. The bearded poet is
one of the most surreal and funniest in spoken word, and he has a
funny beard, which is the closest thing to Santa any adult can hope
for, and is only included in this blurb because I couldn’t resist
making that kind of obvious connection between his beard and
christmas. Yay Obvious Yay.
Aoife Mannix
One of london poetry’s veteran performers. She’s currently one-person- showing it across london and beyond under the Apples and Snakes umbrella. Both humourous and deep with her tales of family and growing up, she will tease your funnybone and climb all the way into your heart.
and Finally…
FLUTE AND DRUM!
Last time they came.
They stole the show.
This time-
They’ll finish the night.
