Escalator: Live Literature 2008
Escalator 2008 has now been launched. This talent scheme for the East of England will this year focus on live literature (performance poetry, spoken word, story telling, anything that makes the written word live).
Five writers/performers living in the East of England will be selected and will work with one of our five mentors to create their own one person live literature show. They will be guided through an Arts Council England Grants For The Arts bid to support their work and be offered places on professional development workshops with stars of the live literature scene, and spend three days working with West End theatre director James Grieve to hone a 20 minute extract from their show to be performed at a showcase in May 2009.
Escalator Literature 2008 mentors/judges are: Francesca Beard, Matt Harvey, Aöife Mannix, Courttia Newland, and Russell Thompson (creator of Rachel Pantechnicon).
Deadline for entries is 31st July 2008
Escalator 2008 Live Literature is managed by New Writing Partnership.
