Spring at last! Many thanks to all those who came to the launch of my new poetry collection ‘Cocktails from the Ceiling.’ I really enjoyed the evening and I’ve had some really lovely feedback on the book. If you’d like to get hold of a copy, you can order it here
I’m really pleased that Cityread London has asked me to be their official blogger for the third year in a row. For 2014, we’re reading Louisa Young’s My Dear, I Wanted To Tell You and Michael Murpurgo’s Private Peaceful. Two incredibly powerful novels about World War One that I would highly recommend. You can check out my first blog post here
I’m about to start monster catching again with my children’s show going back on the road including Feb 21st to 23rd at the Royal Shakespeare Company. You can find out more information here
I’ll be at the Southbank Centre compering their Young StorySlam on February 12th. We’re looking for young people with the literary X Factor – find out more here
My latest collection ‘Cocktails from the Ceiling‘ is being launched on January 13th at 7:30 at the Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton St, Covent Garden, London. Hope to see you there if you’re able to make it.
I’m delighted that my latest poetry collection ‘Cocktails from the Ceiling’ has just been published by tall-lighthouse. You can order it direct from the publisher by emailing email@example.com or via paypal through their website. I’d love to know what you think of it? Also it might make a nice Christmas present for someone! Here’s a sample poem to wet your appetite –
We walk under a sky soft with evening
along a beach where two dogs
chase each other into the sea.
You lean down and pick up a shell,
no bigger than a button,
white and chipped and heart shaped.
‘This one’s for you,’ you say.
I zip it into the pocket of my jacket
thinking that maybe all is not lost after all.
My children’s show Misunderstood Monsters is still touring the UK. If you or a smaller person you know fancies a bit of monster catching and saving the planet, I hope to see you soon!
